new academic year...flexible spaces

by Picassofish @ 2007-10-17 - 15:20:05

This is my starting point for the year. Trying to avoid completely the specifics which could be linked to "spacial design" such as theatre/exhibition set design. The reason for this being that this is where I slipped up big time last year. This is actually my second shot shot at level 3 design and I am not going to make the following mistakes again:

1. Taking on a project of which I don't have the technical knowledge
2. Don't rely on one person's guidence/knowledge to support you
3. Use the mediums you're most comfortable with for delivering your work
4. Not setting regular deadlines. I'm the type of person who needs structure, not just waiting till the end of the year to hand it all in.
5. You don't have to try and incorporate your career ambitions into your final years wor. Finish degree now, career later.

So, for now it's the felxible spaces. Thinking about the literal and non-literal manings to form a coherant project. This year I want to use what I have learned and gathered over the last few years at uni and incorporate personal interests, things that really excite me, attention grabbing and engrossing.
